Almost Friend
When we were young, we used to drink a lot
I didn’t think a lot, or not at all, not even when
I used to laugh aloud.
Now I apologize, for telling all those lies
Now I don’t laugh so much.
You can hypnotize me
Without a try to make a friend.
I simply sigh,
as I did when
I was lonely and you were only
My long lost friend.
How does it end?
Now you apologize for telling all those lies
And I realize there’s no end
But I intend
To be your always, almost friend.
